WinDRM - Windows Digital Radio Mondiale


WinDRM - (HF Digital World Radio) is the Digital Voice and Data Transfer program by Cesco, HB9TLK. It is based on the DREAM voice encoding program. The program is under developement and still being tested. The program is designed to run on a 500MHz or faster computer running under Windows XP.



WinDRM - Download the latest version

MELP DLL - REQUIRED for WinDRM - Download MELP


Click the link below. It will start the download for the MELP DLL. It is a ZIP file that you must unzip after saving to your hard drive. You must copy the file, "melp_dll.dll" to the same folder as the file, "windrm.exe".

IrfanView plug-ins - required to view JP2 images

Install IrfanView first then run the install for the plug-ins.

Windows file associations are required to allow for IrfanView to automatically load and display some image files. Run IrfanView and select Options/Set file associations. Under the Extensions tab select JP2 and any other file type you wish to be associated with IrfanView. Click OK before closing.



WinDRM Setup


Open Windows Explore.
Create a new folder on the root of the C drive. Name it WinDRM.
Unzip the WinDRM downloaded ZIP file.
Unzip the MELP DLL downloaded ZIP file.
Copy the file "windrm.exe" to this new folder.
Copy the file "melp_dll.dll" to this new folder.
Create a shortcut to this file and place it on the desktop. This can be done by right clicking on the file, "windrm.exe", then selecting "Send To", and "Desktop (create shortcut)".
Launch WinDRM using the shortcut.
Under Setup, select the PTT port for your interface. Enter your callsign. You may want to select the "Waterfall" display.
Close WinDRM to save these settings.
