RS Decoder Download & Setup
The digital SSTV programs, EasyPal Lite and EasyPal Full feature a Reed-Solomon error correction encoder/decoder. When used, the files sent will have a ".rs" and a number extension. EasyPal Lite and EasyPal Full should decode and display these files automatically. Other DRM digital SSTV programs do not have the ability to decode these files. Cesco (HB9TLK) has made available a decoder for the RS files copied by other programs such as HamPal, WinDRM, and DIGTRX.

RS Decoder Use
After receiving an RS encoded file, bring up Windows "Explore" (right click on "start"). Locate the received file. It will have an extension ".rs" and a number one through four. Drag and drop this file onto the file "rs.exe". The file should decode and the image should open with the default viewer. You may want to setup Windows to use "rs.exe" as the default program for opening all ".rs1", ".rs2", ".rs3", and ".rs4" files. When using WinDRM and having a few missing segments, hit the "SPA" button to force it to start the decode.
