Wings for the Journey |
Purpose A group that provides education and support for anyone who grieves the death of a child. |
Background |
| Perhaps no loss has greater potential to
devastate a family than the death of a child. Many families have
experienced this trauma first-hand.
Some people find support from family and friends. Others seek out the assistance of clergy or others in professional counseling. A few make bad choices (alcohol and substance abuse, leaving the family, quitting their job, etc.) in a futile attempt to cope. A number find help in meeting with others who have experienced a similar loss. Maybe no other person has greater potential to support a family with their grief around the death of a child than someone who has walked in those same shoes. |
